How long is the waiting list?

The average waiting time ranges between 4 to 7 months, however many factors contribute to the waiting times and they may vary. 

Do you have emergency housing?

 

We do not have emergancy housing, all apartments are offered according to the order on our waiting list and availability. 

How do I apply?

 

All applications for New Boston income based properties are online here. There are no paper applications, if you do not have access to a computer, one is available at the Central Office during business hours.

Can I apply for Section 8?

 

NBPM does not administer Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program. If you would like more information on Section 8 in the area visit our Useful Links page. 

How much will my rent be?

 

For income-based rental assistance, rent is roughly 30% of your gross income, however you may qualify for HUD-approved deductions. You will get a rent estimate when an apartment is offered and you meet with your Occupancy Specialist. Visit the "HUD Fact Sheet" for more specific details.

If I see suspicious activity going on in the neighborhood, what should I do?

 

The first thing you should do is call the police and report the activity to them and to the Central Office. If it is related to a certain person or apartment let us know by completing the comment/complaint form here or pick one up at the office.  The reporting person is always kept  confidential. 

Are parking spaces assigned?

At Corley Homes there are designated parking areas for Tenants Only and for visitors. The tenant parking spaces are not numbered; they are for the residents who live in that area.  Only one registered  vehicle per household can be parked there at any time.  All other sites have plenty enough parking for guests and residents alike but if you are a resident or a frequent visitor you must register your vehicle with the office.  

All Public Housing Agencies are individually operated. Agencies do not transfer from one to another.  An application at the receiving agency should be completed.

Are pets allowed?

 

Yes. One pet per household. Dogs must meet height and weight requirements and breed restrictions of the Management’s Pet Policy.  All pets must be registered; dogs licensed and have proper vaccines.  Please, no exotic pets.

If you are required to participate in the Friendship Services Program (HUD's Community Service), or looking for ways to become involved in your community, here is a list of possibilities. You may also pick up a printed list at the Central Office.

 

When is My Rent Due?

 

Rent is due on the 1st of every month.  If you are unable to pay by the 5th, please contact the office as soon as possible.  Late charges apply after the 5th.
